Being Sensitive
Looking back on it, the answers had always been right in front of me. I just couldn't see them, as I was like most people, preoccupied with my job and relationships, with little time for much of anything else. It wasn't until a year after I faced the stalker outside my work that I realized that I was an empath, a part of the reason I was targeted.
There are different types of empaths, but the basic definition is empaths are people who are sensitive to energy. You could also say highly intuitive. I can read people like a book. Kindhearted or untrustworthy, open or hiding something, good character or bad. I can usually tell when someone is lying, even on television. If you've been subjected to gang stalking, there's a good chance you have some semblance of intuition, too.
Most people are empaths and don't know it. Have you ever been walking down the street and felt someone looking at you, a friend for example, and turned and there they were? Have you ever thought about someone just before they called on the phone? Can you tell when someone's not being honest with you? Are there times when you just âknewâ something but couldn't explain how you knew in conventional terms? Then you're sensitive, too.
It took a trip to the grocery store for me to discover that I am extraordinarily sensitive to the energy of others' emotions. I was in the checkout line one afternoon, feeling calm, until I was overcome all at once by a wave of fear. I don't normally suffer from anxiety, so thought it was strange until I turned around. Standing in line behind me was a man who had had a crush on me for years, looking at me nervously. Somehow I had picked up on his emotions without even seeing him. This was the first inclination that I had this kind of sensitivity. The events of the next few years would prove this beyond a doubt.
Again, everything, including emotional states, is a form of energy. A strange concept to grasp at first, but if you are a âsensitive,â you will be familiar with how different places have a different âfeelâ to them. A battlefield feels differently than a school. A prison feels differently than a church. Even being around certain people can affect your mood potentially, as well as the surrounding environment, even without any words being exchanged. An angry person in your immediate vicinity creates tension in the air. Laughter creates a light atmosphere.
I've experienced this myself, while visiting places where horrible crimes and a suicide was committed. Without knowing what had happened prior, I felt extremely heavy and depressed, for no reason I could discern at the time. The effects of thoughts and emotion, in particular, are tangible.
To simplify the concept of the energetic properties of emotions and thoughts, think of depression and fear, for example, as being of a lower and denser vibratory nature, while love, laughter, and compassion, for example, are higher and of a lighter vibratory nature.
